Petition to Stop Sewage Spills into Ottawa's Rivers

ORAP.jpg

Dear Members of Parliament and Members of Provincial Parliament,

We, the undersigned, are calling on the federal government, and government of Ontario, to help fund the Ottawa River Action Plan.

More than 400 million litres of untreated sewage gets dumped directly into the Ottawa River every year. The City of Ottawa has a plan that will put an end to this appalling situation and we are calling on the federal and provincial governments to contribute their fair share of the money to make it happen.

We want a sewage free river!

We need to protect our waterways for future generations, 400 million litres of untreated sewage water is 400 million litres too many.

To have three polluted waterways in Canada’s capital city is shameful. Cleaning up the Ottawa River would be a terrific start.
