2019 Federal Election Climate Plan Petition

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the highest accepted scientific authority on climate change, estimates that we have 11 years to avoid catastrophic damage.

The upcoming federal election is a chance to create a movement for change, one that will transition us to a clean economy and resilient world. We can’t afford to wait. The time is now.

All federal parties must have a bold climate action plan that is in line with the science. By signing this petition, I pledge to vote for a party with a climate action plan that avoids climate catastrophe.

Now more than ever the environment is the most important issue we face. There are so many people, with so much wealth, and so much technology at their disposal, that we are reaching a tipping point. Maybe we already have.

Let’s replace fossil fuels for transportation with H2 using renewables as the primary energy source. Let’s make incentives for people to plant trees to absorb CO2 and release O2. Let’s replace plastics in the food and beverage industry with recycle-able or biodegradeable materials. Let’s mandate that city housing developments design and incorporate roof top gardens and rain water should be collected for the purpose of watering these gardens. Green space in all cities must be increased. Community gardens should set up in each city so city dwellers can learn to grow their own food in season.
