Tree Ottawa: October Book Club 2016

Do you love trees? Would you like to learn more about tree planting? Then you will love October's Book Club Meeting!

This month’s book: Eating Dirt: Deep Forests, Big Timbre, and Life with the Tree-Planting Tribe by Charlotte Gill.

Charlotte Gill spent twenty years working as a tree planter in the forests of Canada. During her million-tree career, she encountered hundreds of clearcuts, each one a collision site between human civilization and the natural world, a complicated landscape presenting geographic evidence of our appetites.

To learn more about Charlotte Gill, visit charlottegill.com

All of the books for our Book Club will be sold at the local Ottawa bookstore, Perfect Books which is conveniently located downtown on Elgin Street. Perfect Books is offering a 15% discount on each book the month it is featured.

If you have any further questions, please contact the Tree Team at treeottawa@ecologyottawa.ca.

Unable to make this book club meeting? Don’t worry! Our next meeting is November 7, where we will be discussing the book, The Hidden Life of Trees: What They Feel, How They Communicate -- Discoveries from a Secret World by Peter Wollheben.

Feel free to continue checking our website for any changes at treeottawa.org/book-club.
