On June 11th, Tree Ottawa is teaming up with the Convent Glen / Orleans Wood Community Association and the City of Ottawa for another fantastic tree planting event in Beauclaire Park. The City is providing us 800 trees to plant, which means we’re going to need at least 100 volunteers! This fun event is the perfect way to spend time with family and friends by helping trees spread their roots into their new homes. Every tree that goes into the ground makes a real difference in the future!
WHEN: June 11th, 9am-12pm
WHERE: Beauclaire Park
As part of our Million Tree Initiative, we’re getting our hands into the soil to help green and tree-up Ottawa’s community. It’s a wonderful way to give back to nature, and to help make a difference by improving the quality of life in local parks. With your help, these trees will flourish, creating a beautiful, healthy, and well-diverse area for all of Ottawa to enjoy!
Please come on out to Beauclaire Park on June 11th, as the community comes together to plant these trees. All you need to bring is a pair of gloves, a shovel, yourself, and as many other people as you can! The tree planting will start at 9am. Just look for the sign-in tables, where our team will direct you to our team leaders, who will provide instructions on how to plant the trees. And, as a bonus, we will also have food waiting to help kick-start our day! As the saying goes, the early bird gets the worm!
As we will working outside, dress appropriately. For everyone’s safety, the City has sprayed the area for wild parsnip. But there’s no stopping the sun or bugs, so please bring sunscreen, a hat, bug spray, and a water bottle!
Planting 800 trees is no easy feat. Let’s all come together to do something great for the community!
